Trilogy of books
Book 1
Main character starts in a bad way, still mourning her dead husband, trying to keep his business afloat and still feeling out of place because she is porcelain white and people look at her with envy and jealousy. She is stressed out, depressed and barely hanging on. Her father in law releases this and insists that she take a break for a couple weeks and go use his cabin in the outer dome. Begrudgingly she agrees and a trusted employee is sent with her to keep her safe on the journey.
At the cabin Character A and B grow closer and Character A learns that Character B and her Dead husband were close friends and shared his passion for the direction and dream of the company. Character B offers to take her to his village. She’s not keen as she remembers the burning dog school trip and tells him that she doesn’t have a car. He tells her knows where they can get one.
They go to a tribal leader who lives near the edge of the outer dome and she directs them to who last had a car. Character B explains that multiple tribes own these cars and that they share them as needed because cars are expensive. They reach where the car is, they talk with the person for a bit and then jump in the car. He jumps in the front and puts the windows down, she jumps in the back and puts the protective shielding up. They talk for a bit and she expresses how she feels about her skin tone and how she envies his ability to walk out in the fresh air and sunshine. She drifts off to sleep.
They arrive in his village at night time and he carries her to his grandpa’s office and lyes her on the couch. He leaves her there and goes to catch up with his family and friends. Sometime later his grandma checks on Character A and shrieks because the office is resonating with Character A (I think it would be cool if she was resonating with the room as well and had some bioloumanessance going on, also works as to why they go to the shamin) grandma calls character B and tells him the room hasn’t done that since his grandpa passed.
Character A wakes up after two days asleep, she gets up and finds Character B they talk. She mentions she has a small headache at the back of her head and he shows her what parts of the house should be safe for her during the day.
They spend the next couple weeks bonding and hangout in his village and she feels more at home than she ever has in the city. She feels guilty because she is really starting to like this guy but she feels like she is betraying her dead husband.
Just after the sun has gone down she goes for a walk alone, she walks outside the village to a beautiful spot Character B took her on one of their walks. She looks at the stars for a while then speaks out loud to her dead husband and pours out her feelings. She drops to her knees and sobs.
Character B wakes the sound of someone leaving the house, he gets up and goes to check on Character A and finds her not in bed he checks the house and realises she has gone out, he remembers her father in law telling him to protect her. He chucks on a shirt, slippers and a bathrobe and leaves the house to look for her. He searches the town and checks in with friends and family. Then he remembers his childhood spot he took her to as he gets closer he hears her shouting. He puts on the speed and when he sees her she is on her knees wailing. He falls to his knees and skids in next to her wrapping her in his large warm arms, after she has calmed a bit he asks if she is ok and she says yes and they kiss.
They walk back to the village hand in hand. She teases him for ripping up his pj pants and scuffing up his knees.
When they get back to the house she treats the grazes on his knees. He takes off his pants forgetting he’s not underpants (or forgetting their morality is different as nakedness isn’t a big deal in the tribes), he is embarrassed and apologises to her and she undresses and they slide into bed together. She falls asleep in his warm embrace.
The next morning they discuss her headaches and he says she should see the shamin.
They go to the shamin and tell her what’s wrong. The shamin shares some rumours she has heard and then examines Character A. while examining she mmmm, and gruts alot and then very plainly tells Character B he can go, he asks when he should come collecte her, shamin replies I’ll keep her you go now.
Feeling dejected and unsure he gets up to leave and Character A catches his hand and gives him a pleading look. He puts his other hand on hers and tells her that she will be fine. This is the most revered person in the whole village, he pulls away and leaves her there. The shamin disappears into another room and calls for her to hurry. When she enters the room, she inhales a powder.
She wakes up in a small but nicely furnished room. She notices a small light brown circle on her skin, she sees the shamin enter the room more dust and she passes out. She wakes up eight circles of varying shades. The shamin enters the room and tells her that they are going for a walk. Followed the shmain till she noticed it was day time and refused to go any further the shamin wasn’t phased and just walked off. This continued for a couple of weeks until she realised she was standing at the door and she wasn’t burnt to a crisp but it had begun to darken. She took the final step out the door and followed the shamin. She asked if they could visit Character B, the shamin replies he’s gone.
From Character B’s perspective he goes back every day for two weeks asking the shamin to release Character A as they have responsibilities back in the city and everyday the shamin replies no, I keep her. Eventually he goes back to the city to let people know she is alright and she just needs a little more time. The father in law put character B in charge of the dead son’s company which causes some unrest because a native has never been at that level. He deals with intolerance a small mindedness
Michelle notes
Zak thought this story should be a trilogy and the alien should be a B-Plot
If I remember right the first book was up to and including iNyanga discovering she is a native and falling for Guy
Book 2 is Guy and her getting together, contact with the alien and falling instead for him. Discovering the element has multiple possibilities for spacecraft
Book 3 is discovering alien is still a child if a long lived one and a mental relationship with him is a different thing not love that Guy is her true love. That her mental powers are stronger than any predicted and that the aliens can die happy knowing their lineage of a sort lives on.
Applying the element to spacecraft and getting the business thriving.
