When a child is born it has no name until the Spring Festival.

In the spring festival, Babies born since the last spring are given a name, gains it´s first foot tattoo, and presented to the Almighty.
Babies are given a toe tattoo each spring and when they have tattooed all 8 small toes they are a child, no longer a baby.
The Almighty says which home the child will live in now. A water stone is placed in the tribe “well” the child’s tattoos are painted on the stone to show that now they are a contributing member of the tribe.
The home they spend childhood in relates to their future contributions (job) for the tribe.

Connecting to The Almighty
The wise woman can connect to The Almighty, if enough of the tribe gather and they all have strong enough telepathic powers as a group.
The groups powers are gathered together in the mind of the wise woman along with vital information on each member of the tribe and this is sent to a relay on one of the small moons and sent on, out to space.
The Almighty(ies) communicate back to the wise woman with messages for any who need to do something for the good of the tribe, who to marry for example.
Tribal Hierarchies
The culture is matrilineal with the responsibilities of the wise woman going to the one who at the funeral becomes the focus when chanting the last chant for the wise woman who has passed
The Amighty
The Almighty is a misnomer.
The Almighty is actually a group of people.
These people are an old race. They faced a race ending catastrophe when their tweaking DNA to extend life they had a side effect which made them have first low birth rate then no birth rate.
They tried sampling DNA from the Galaxy over to mix with their own to reverse the problem. Low birth rate they could handle but no birth rate would mean the end of the race.
They had no luck but one child deformed but intelligent, who thousands of years latter has not pupated like they thought he would and had not obtained an adult form, yet?
So they decided to build a colony ship and travel to the next galaxy.
Before they did though they tried one last experiment.
Rather than changing their species with a little of other species DNA, they changed early human DNA with a little of theirs, so they would grow more intelligent and telepathic. And so in this way a part of them remained in their home galaxy.
They placed these people on a planet suited to them, warm and dry and a long way from Earth.
The wise woman will talk with whoever is on duty when the call comes in and they communicate what the council has decided to tell her to keep the experiment on track.
